Detectives are re-appealing for information after an arsonist targeted a Blackpool hotel.
Officers investigating the deliberate fire at the back of the Silver Beach Hotel, on Albert Road, are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious leading up to the fire to contact them.
Police said the fire was set sometime between 1am and 3am on October 6 when a piece of fabric was pushed under the cellar door and set alight.
The fire was spotted by members of the public who were able to put it out. But it had still caused significant damage to the door.
PC Eleanor Heaney, of Blackpool Police, said: “It was very lucky that people were passing and they were able to put the fire out before it spread any further as this could have become much more serious very quickly.
“I am very keen to trace the people responsible and so would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the hotel to come forward and contact us.
“Similarly, if anyone has any other information they think could help then I would ask them to get in touch by calling 101.”
