Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a takeaway in Blackpool.

Around 5.30pm on Monday money was stolen from a man and a woman at the Good View Takeaway in St Annes Road, South Shore.

Police said the pair were left with injuries which resulted in them being treated at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Martin Abbott, owner of Tasty Bites, a sandwich shop which is next door to the takeaway, said it was “a shock” to hear about the incident.

He added: “My father-in-law rang me on Monday concerned about the vehicles outside the shop around 6.30pm.

“From there we came back and checked outside and there was a police car, van and two officers.

“One of them said there had been a ‘rum do’ next door.

“On Tuesday the police were still there – we have not seen the neighbours.

“They keep themselves to themselves really.

“You think it is nice and quiet around here. You do not expect any trouble.

“You just do not think these things will happen near where you work.”

A spokesman for Lancashire Police confirmed two people had been assaulted and some money stolen.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Lancashire Police on 101.
