POLICE are appealing for information after a man was subjected to a “nasty assault” in Layton.

The 46-year-old victim had approached two men at the junction of Torsway Avenue and Nethway Avenue and spoke with them about the noise they were making, before they turned on him and punched him in the head and face.

The incident happened at around 8.15am on Friday, September 7, but details have only just been released by police.

The victim also had an object thrown at his eye, which caused temporary loss of vision and some permanent damage.

Both offenders are white and in their early to mid-20s, with one described as 5ft 9ins with short, curly hair and stubble with a ginger tint while the second is of slim build, taller than the first and had greasy looking dark hair.

PC Graham Boswell said: “This was a nasty assault and if anybody has any information about it then I would urge them to contact us.”
