A PLUMBER turned on his girlfriend, subjecting her to a 20-minute attack in their home.

Blackpool magistrates heard how Aaron Jepson grabbed his victim around the neck.

As she struggled to breathe the 23-year-old also kicked and punched her and at one stage spat at her.

Jepson, of Whitegate Drive, Blackpool, admitted two offences of assault at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the couple had started to go out together in 2010 but things slowly started to go wrong. During one row, Jepson swung around his jacket and the zip caught his girl-friend in the eye.

In May this year, Jepson was late picking her up from work. When they drove home he started to drive fast sounding his horn.

The prosecutor added: “The victim says he was screaming and shouting and drove like a maniac. She thought he was going to have an accident.”

At home he confronted her in their bedroom, pushing her up against a wall with his hand around her neck .When he left she rang the police.

Michael Ball, defending, said: “My client accepts he has anger management problems and issues with using cannabis.”

Magistrates ordered presentence reports on Jepson.
