A pizza order trapped a thief who had stolen a fellow flat tenant’s bank card.

Police saw £22 of pizza had been ordered with the card from a takeaway, so an officer went there and got details of the person the food had been delivered to.

Bradley Speakes was arrested after police went to his flat and found incriminating evidence in the form of Domino’s pizza boxes there.

Speakes, 29, of Warley Road, North Shore pleaded guilty to a charge of theft and three offence of fraud by using the stolen bank card.

He was sentenced to a 12 months community order with up to 20 days rehabilitation to be supervised by the probation service, ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work for the community and pay £92 compensation, a £180 court charge, £85 costs, plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Speakes pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
