An 80-year-old man who is banned from buses after molesting schoolgirls is to spend Christmas in prison.

Geoffrey Mole, formerly of Adelaide Street, Blackpool, now of no fixed address, admitted his seventh breach of a court order – by failing to comply with the terms of the sex offenders’ register.

He also pleaded guilty to breaching a suspended prison sentence.

Mole was sentenced to nine weeks in prison by Blackpool magistrates.

Mole was previously banned from pubic transport at peak times and from lurking round bus stops after sexually assaulting two schoolgirls on a bus.

He was put on the sex offenders’ register and made the subject of a Sex Offences Prevention Order.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Mole failed to notify police of his new address as he was required to between December 12 and 16.

He had breached his sex offenders register order twice previously and the Sex Offences Prevention Order four times before.

Michael Woosnam, defending, said: “Age appears to be catching up with him and he has some degree of confusion.”
