A BAR worker out celebrating his birthday was arrested after having too much to drink.

Stephen Betteridge, 23, of Butler Street, Blackpool, admitted being drunk and disorderly when he appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

John Abbott, prosecuting, said Betteridge was seen shouting and arguing with door staff and kicking windows at a venue on Queen Street, Blackpool, on February 3.

The court was told he had one previous conviction for being drunk and disorderly in public.

Betteridge told magistrates his two offences of being drunk and disorderly both happened when he was celebrating his birthday and told them he was not going to drink again.

He was given an 18 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £43 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by magistrates.
