Two men accused of kidnapping a man and setting fire to his face after spraying him with fuel have made their first appearance at court.
David Potts, 31, of Salthouse Avenue, and Jonathan Stemburski, 34, of Church Street, both of Blackpool, are charged with falsely imprisoning a man and assaulting him causing actual bodily harm.
The victim is alleged to have been punched and kneed more than 100 times when he was held in Stemburski’s flat on February 7. He is in hospital with bruising on the brain and multiple facial injuries.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court and the defendants to be kept in custody.
The defendants did not ask for bail and were remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on February 25 by Blackpool magistrates.
