Reeko, a six-year-old male Indian ringneck parakeet, went missing after escaping from his cage at about 12.15pm on Monday (January 3) in Layton.

The bird’s owner Lill Keeton, 56, took to social media to seek help in finding her beloved pet.

Lill said: "If you know where he is could you please give me a ring.

"We've walked miles and searched everywhere.

"He's needs to be returned urgently because he's on medication and I'm really worried about him."

The UK's only naturalised parrot, the Indian ringneck parakeet is large, long-tailed and green with a red beak and a pink and black ring around its face and neck, according to the RSPB.

Anyone with information about Reeko's whereabouts should contact Lill on 07711 840740.
