An 18-year-old breached the terms of his release from prison on licence within hours of him getting his freedom.
Kyle Shaw got drunk and got involved in a fight at the hostel where he was being accommodated in central Blackpool.
Shaw admitted breaching his prison licence and to assaulting James White when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates court.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, told the court Shaw got involved in a row over a stolen mobile phone.
Shaw and another man followed White back to his room where White was victim of punches and kicks.
Shaw denied kicking the victim but admitted throwing the punches.
He was sent back to prison for 18 weeks by Blackpool magistrates.
