A businessman stalked his wife by using apps on a mobile phone and a computer tablet.

Aaron Bland became obsessed that his wife was seeing another man so he tracked her using the My Spy and Find My i-Phone apps to monitor her movements, texts and phone log.

Bland, a 32-year-old father-of-three, of Broadhurst Road, Anchorsholme, pleaded guilty to stalking his wife between January 15 and May 20 this year.

He was sentenced to 12 months’ supervision and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the couple had been together for 13 years, but three years ago Bland’s wife said he began using cannabis and suffered mood swings.

Daniel Harman, defending, said the couple had had a volatile relationship which Bland said was because of business pressures, not cannabis use.

The couple could get back together and Bland’s wife did not want a restraining order put on her husband.

Mr Harman added: “He admitted he had a fit of paranoia and was obsessed by the thought she was seeing other men.”
