Nurses needed '“ for prison roles

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is on the lookout for registered general nurses and registered mental health nurses '“ to work in prisons across the county.

The trust, which provides health services in prisons in Lancashire, as well as two in Liverpool, is also hoping to attract staff looking for a new challenge across its services.

Leanne Shaw, who works at HMP Liverpool, said: “I qualified in 2013 when I worked within a trauma unit before joining the healthcare team at HMP Liverpool.

“I really love my job, it’s so varied and you never know what you will be dealing with from one day to the next.

“As I’m based within a prison, we have to adhere to the prison regime.

“The teams we work in are great and really supportive; I would encourage anyone thinking of applying to do it.”
