A niece raided her aunt’s savings while she was a long-term patient in hospital.
Elizabeth Knights set-up an online bank account in her aunt’s name and transferred a total of £3,654 to her own account.
Knights, 42, of Southfleet Place, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to fraud. She was bailed for pre-sentence reports by District Judge Roger Lowe sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said Knights’ 53-year-old aunt, was a long-term patient in hospital between July and November last year. After being discharged, the aunt noticed someone had been taking money from her account.
Alan Godwin, defending, said at the time Knights’ benefits had been stopped and she regretted what she had done.
