A TEENAGE father ended up being charged with assault when he rubbed nappy cream into the face of his partner after a row.
Justin Ware admitted assaulting the victim.
Ware, 18, of Heald Street, Layton, was bailed pending the preparation of a pre sentence report.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Ware and the victim had been in a relationship for three years and had just had a baby daughter.
One night, the couple had a raging argument and the victim went to see her mother.
When she returned she found Ware was still in a bad mood.
As she changed their baby he put his fingers in the nappy rash cream and wiped it down her face.
Police were called and officers arrested Ware.
Trevor Colebourne, defending, told the court the whole incident had been a misunderstanding.
He added: “In times gone by this would never have come to court.
“My client was trying the make his partner laugh.”
