A driver pulled over for using his phone while driving told police his boss was 'pecking his head'.

The excuse didn't get the motorist out of a ticket, however.

A spokesman for the county's road policing unit said he was given a traffic offence report (TOR).

Using a phone while driving is now punishable by six penalty points and a £200 fine.
