Concern is growing for a 29-year-old former Lytham student who has been reported missing while on a night out in York.

It’s feared Rory Johnson may have got into difficulty while walking near the River Ouse and the police underwater search unit is carrying out searches in the area. Mr Johnson, who it is believed is a former Lytham High School pupil but now lives in Skipton, was last seen by his friend at 12.15am on Friday when he left the York Central Travelodge where they were staying the night.

He never returned to the hotel and failed to turn up for work on Friday evening. Police say his mobile phone was also going to answer phone and he has not been in contact with his family.

The two friends were in The Postern Gate Wetherspoon pub from around 11.30pm on Thursday, and Mr Johnson headed back out after returning to the nearby Travelodge for a short time at around midnight.

He is 5ft 6in tall, slim, with has short mousy-coloured hair. He was wearing a round-neck black top, blue jeans and white and navy trainers.

Anyone who remembers seeing him is asked to get in touch with the police on 101, quoting reference number 12150207141.
