A man was robbed of his distinctive custom made off road bike after being followed and threatened by two yobs.

The 20-year-old victim had been heading home along Radcliffe Road, Fleetwood when he was approached by two men.

Police said the thieves threatened the man with physical abuse if he did not hand over the bike - that he had built from scratch.

Detectives investigating the incident have now released a picture of the bike in the hope anyone who spots it will report the sighting to police.

Det Sgt Kathryn Riley, of Fleetwood CID, said: “The victim and a friend had been walking down an alleyway when they noticed they were being followed by two men.

“The victim and his friend split up and the thieves caught up with the victim and threatened to attack him if he didn’t hand over his customised bike.

“Fortunately the victim was not injured in this incident but he was left shaken up.

“I urge anyone who sees this bike or who knows of it whereabouts to contact police directly.”

The incident took place on Saturday February 15 but officers have only just released the details to the media.

The stolen bike is described as a white KLX 140CC off road bike with the number 177 in black on the front.

It has a number of distinctive features including Z engine, oil cooler in silver with a black guard, a quick pace throttle in blue and a red front brake calliper.

Both attackers have been described as wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
