Police want to speak to a man in connection to the rape of a woman in Blackpool town centre.

It is now more than two years since the reported attack - which happened in a flat on Park Road on December 23 2012.

Nigerian national Steve Ken Peter, 38, also known as Hameed Saeko and Steve Adanemen Iyere (believed to be his real name), is being sought in connection with the incident.

It is believed the woman, 18-years-old at the time, was raped by a man who said his name was Tony.

His last known address was in Newcastle upon Tyne (2008), however, he is known to have previously lived in Bradford, West Yorkshire (pre 2008) and London (2007).

Peter is also thought to have links to Manchester.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “A woman and a friend were in a Blackpool nightclub and met up with two black men.

“The two friends then left the nightclub with the men before returning to the flat where the incident happened.”

DC Beverly Thomas, from Blackpool’s Public Protection Unit, said: “Our investigation into this incident is still on-going despite the passage of time since it occurred.

“We are keen to trace and speak with Peter in connection with our enquiries.

“I would strongly urge anyone who knows of his current or recent whereabouts to contact police.”

Peter is described as a black African male, approx 5ft 7ins tall, with a diamond type stud ear-ring.
