A man stole two bicycles which had been chained-up in the Moor Park area of Bispham.
Gary Donald, 52, of Braemar Walk, Bispham, pleaded guilty to two offences of theft.
Martine Connah, prosecuting, said a woman chained up her £200 bike while she went into Moor Park Library on October 19. She returned to find the chain cut and the bike gone.
On November 23 a man chained up his £499 bike outside Moor Park Leisure Centre and found it had gone when he came back.
Donald was identified from CCTV. He told police he had stolen the bikes because of his heroin problem. Patrick Nelligan, defending, said his client had returned the second bike. He was taking steps to deal with his drug problem. Donald was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £180 court charge with £200 compensation by magistrates.
