A man stole steak from a store after his benefits were stopped.

Robert Snow, 24, of Burlington Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to theft.

He was sentenced to a 36 days curfew from 7pm to 6am and ordered to pay a £150 court charge with £50 costs plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said on September 9 a CCTV operator at Marks and Spencer saw Snow steal four packs of steaks valued at £51. Robert Castle, defending, said at the time Snow’s benefits had been stopped and he had lost his accommodation.
