Man stole £1,000 of cigarettes being escaping through a staff toilet window

A man escaped from a store where he had stolen almost £1,000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco via a staff toilet window.

But as he did so his foot activated an alarm and Steven Fuller was arrested.

Fuller, 37, currently a prisoner at Cumbria’s Haverigg prison, has 33 previous convictions for burglary and attempted burglary 
Blackpool Magistrates heard.

Fuller admitted burgling the McColls convenience store on Anchorsholme Lane East, Cleveleys.

Pam Smith,prosecuting, said that Fuller was in the main store for a time inquiring about a type of lager.

But he left without purchasing anything and went round the back of the shop and got into a storeroom area where he took the £975 of goods before trying to make his escape.

Fuller was given a further 12 weeks jail.
