A man stole after a long-term relationship broke down and he started taking heroin again.

John Watton, 37, of Pleasant Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to theft and breaching a conditional discharge.

He was sentenced to 20 days rehabilitation supervised by the probation service, and fined £10 with a £150 court charge plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said Watton was 
detained outside Blackpool’s TK Maxx store with £165 of goods he had stolen from there on April 18.

Hugh Pond, defending, said Watton was suffering from some serious health problems and an alcohol problem.
