Man stabbed in street fight

A STAB victim was treated in hospital after a violent street fight.

Police were called to the incident involving six people, which happened in Grasmere Road, South Shore, at around 2am on Saturday.

Lancashire Police’s force helicopter was deployed in the aftermath of the fight to search for those involved.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident,

A police spokeswoman said: “At around 2am this morning, officers were called to reports of a fight involving six people on Grasmere Road in Blackpool.

“On arrival, officers found a man in his 30s with a stab wound.

“He was taken through to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment although fortunately, his injuries are not thought to be serious.

“One man aged 47 from Blackpool was later arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody.

“At present police are making enquires to trace others involved in the disturbance.”
