A MAN who harassed his estranged wife could face jail.

Christopher Cantwell slashed all four tyres on her car, texted and phoned her 187 times and then said he was going to torch the house where she was living and their former marital home.

The 33-year-old, of Eversleigh Avenue, Thornton, admitted harassing the woman and criminal damage to her car tyres totalling £200.

His case was adjourned until December 11 for pre-sentence reports with all options, including prison, available.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Cantwell started calling and texting his wife after she left him and went to live with her aunt.

He then turned up at the aunt’s home in a drunken state where he made his firebomb threats.

He then rang his ex-wife at her place of work in Fleetwood.

Patrick Nelligan, defending, said Cantwell was having trouble getting his benefits sorted out at the time he made the calls.
