Man on the run goads officers hunting for him

A wanted man who made national headlines last week after ranting '˜people deserve to die' online has continued to goad police over Facebook.

Days after telling one woman he was going to ‘mess with her family’ and told others to ‘watch what I do this year’, Ian Sparkes wrote: “I will be in Blackpool tomorrow. I bet I come and go like normal.”

The 28-year-old fugitive, from Grasmere Road in Blackpool, has made several previous remarks about his estranged daughter, and has written of his frustration at not being able to see her.

And he added: “Still no sign of [her]. Sooner or later. Don’t bother me what I’ve got to do.”

Police have appealed publicly for Sparkes to hand himself in, and for any information from others that could lead to his capture.

He was arrested and quizzed in August last year after £320 was stolen from a machine at The New Manchester pub, on the Promenade, on April 12, and is wanted for questioning about further thefts across the country, and money laundering.

Information on his whereabouts can be reported to police by calling 101.
