Man jailed for burglary and vehicle theft absconds from HMP Kirkham

A 22-year-old man who was sentenced to 30 months in prison has absconded from HMP Kirkham.

Mathew Ferguson, 22, absconded from HMP Kirkham yesterday (March 11).

Ferguson, formerly of Clarendon Road, Eccles, Manchester, was sentenced to 30 months in prison at Burnley Crown Court in June (2019).

He was jailed for offences including burglary, making a false representation and theft of a vehicle.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We are appealing for information to find a wanted prison absconder.

Ferguson is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build with blue eyes and short brown hair.

He speaks with a Manchester accent.

He has links to the Eccles, Salford and Radcliffe areas of Manchester.
