Man in his 60s tied up and robbed after two men break into his home in Oswaldtwistle

Two men broke into a property and tied up a man in his 60s before stealing cash and debit cars in Oswaldtwistle.

Police were called to reports two men had broken into a property on Catlow Hall Street at around 11.25am yesterday (Monday, April 13).

The two men threatened the occupant – a man aged in his 60s - before tying him up.

The offenders made off with a small amount of cash and debit cards before the man managed to free himself and call police.

No arrests have been made as of yet, but police are asking anybody with information about the incident to come forward.

DC Michelle Marston, of Blackburn Police, said: "The victim wasn’t hurt, thankfully, but he has been left extremely shaken by this incident.

"Nobody should be scared in their own home in this way and we are determined to find those responsible.

"Maybe you think you know who is responsible, or perhaps you were in the area and saw something suspicious. Whatever information you have, please get in touch."

The offenders are both described as white males.

One of the men is described as being tall and slim with some facial hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket and a red hat or hood.

The second man is described as being shorter, of a heavier build, and was wearing a grey hooded jacket and a black woolly hat.
