A man concealed a bottle of wine down his trousers and walked out of a supermarket without paying.

Nigel Wilde, 33, of Knowle Avenue, North Shore, pleaded guilty to theft.

He was ordered to pay £8.19 compensation by District Judge James Prowse sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court who imposed no other penalty.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Wilde was caught on CCTV at Sainsburys, Blackpool, putting a bottle of wine down his trousers. It happened on October 22.
