Man held knife to his wife’s neck in kill threat

A man has admitted holding a knife to his partner’s throat and threatening to kill her.

Ian Farmer, 52, was remanded in custody by magistrates at Blackpool and will be sentenced next year after probation reports are prepared on him.

I am going to kill you if you don’t have me back

Farmer, formerly of Kent Road,Blackpool, admitted assault.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said: “The couple have been involved in an on-off relationship since 2007.

“Her children were present when he came from the kitchen with a knife. He held it to her throat and said ‘I am going to kill you if you don’t have me back’.”

“One of the children called the police who arrested Farmer.”

Michael Woosnam, defending, said: “This man has alcohol problems, no money and no home.”
