A man was found with drugs in his trousers when he was strip-searched at a police station.
Unemployed Richard Ancell, 39, of June Avenue, Marton, pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Ancell was stopped in Church Street on June 12 and taken to Blackpool police station.
Police found three wraps of crack cocaine in his trousers.
They also discovered what they initially believed to be eight wraps of heroin, but when they were analysed the contents were found not to be the drug.
Ancell told magistrates that he had used heroin every day, but crack cocaine only occasionally.
He had since been to a drugs rehabilitation group and been put on a prescription for the heroin substitute methadone.
Ancell was fined £70 with £20 victims’ surcharge and ordered to pay a £180 court charge by Blackpool magistrates.
