A man was found in an upturned rubbish bin where he had been rooting for goods in a store’s back yard.

David Draper, a 41-year-old plasterer, of Napier Avenue, South Shore, pleaded guilty to being found on
enclosed premises with
intent to steal.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £35
costs with £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Andrea Fawcett, prosecuting, said that on September 8, at 1am, police received a report two men were acting suspiciously in the back yard of the Blackpool branch of Halfords. Officers discovered Draper hiding under a bin.

Peter Cave, defending, told magistrates Draper had heard bike parts were thrown away in the back yard of Halfords, so he went there looking for parts for his bike.
