Martine Connah, prosecuting, said the incident happened on April 13.

She said a group had hired an address on Walter Avenue, St Annes, for a party.

The defendant telephoned the police saying he had been assaulted at the party. An ambulance was called, but there was a lengthy delay in it arriving and, when it did, Dixon refused to go in it.

Police were called back to the party at 5.30am and found Dixon with cocaine.

David Charnley, defending, said it was a small amount of the drug.
