Ralph Dube, 28, of Withnell Road in the resort, was arrested after a 24-year-old man was knifed in the back at a house party in Moore Street.

Police later charged him with 'wounding with intent'. He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before magistrates in Blackpool.

The stabbing victim fled the house before officers arrived, shortly before 11pm on Sunday, and climbed on top of the Autofix MOT service and repair centre, emergency services said.

He fell through the roof before climbing back up again, before eventually coming down an hour later, a police spokesman added.

His injuries, described as minor, were treated at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
