A man has denied murdering 15-year-old Paige Chivers who has been missing from her Bispham home since August 2007.

Robert Ewing, 60, of Kincraig Place, Blackpool appeared at Preston Crown Court on Monday where he denied murdering the Bispham teenager between August 23, 2007 and August 27, 2007.

Ewing also pleaded not guilty to doing acts intended to pervert the course of public justice, namely intimidating witnesses and providing false information to the police about Paige’s disappearance between August 23, 2007 and September 22 this year.

Co-defendant Gareth Dewhurst, 45, of Duncan Avenue, Blackpool denies the same offence.

Dewhurst also pleaded not guilty to additional charges of sex offence and assisting an offender in disposing of Paige’s body between the dates of August 23 2007 and August 27 2007.

Both men will face trial on April 14 next year.

The trial is scheduled to last up to 12 weeks.

Since Paige’s disappearance there have been no corroborated sightings of her or contact with friends and family.
