Man charged with raping and sexually assaulting boy

A man has made his first court appearance charged with multiple rape and sex offences against the same boy.

District Judge Jeff Brailsford sent Owen Burns for trial at Preston Crown Court where he will appear on February 7.

The judge heard that 65-year-old Burns of Charnley Road,Blackpool faced 13 allegations of raping a boy and sexually assaulting the boy.

Burns was granted bail. He must sign-on at Blackpool police station three times a week and tell the police if he intends to take up the any employment.

He must have no contact with any witnesses in the case or enter a named road in the Blackpool area where his alleged victim lives.
