A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car ploughed through the wall of a property in Singleton, say police.

Patrols were called to the scene at around 1.15am on Monday, August 13 to reports of a crash on Mains Lane near to the Shell Garage.

Ambulance services also attended but police say the man who was driving is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

A police spokesman said: "We received reports from a member of the public that a car had left the road and was half on the road and half on the pavement.

"It seems it damaged a wall in the process.

"A man was breathalysed and arrested on suspicion of drink driving."
