Man appears in court accused of New Year's Eve stabbing in Blackpool

A Blackpool man appeared at Blackpool Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged with a stabbing in South Shore on New Year's Eve.

Ralph Dube, 28, of Withnell Road in the resort, was arrested and charged with grevious bodily harm (GBH) after a 24-year-old man was knifed in the back at a house party in Moore Street.

Magistrates sent his case to Preston Crown Court, where he will appear on Wednesday, January 31.

Mr Dube was remanded in custody.

The stabbing victim fled the party before officers arrived, shortly before 11pm on Sunday, and climbed on top of the Autofix MOT service and repair centre, emergency services said.

He fell through the roof before climbing back up again, before eventually coming down an hour later, a police spokesman added.
