A Polish man accused of fracturing a man’s eye socket in a street attack at Blackpool has made his first appearance before a court.

Piotr Grabowski, 24, of George Street, Blackpool, is charged with maliciously wounding a man on July 7 last year.

Defence lawyer David Charnley said his client had indicated he would plead not guilty to the offence.

Grabowski was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court by Blackpool magistrates.

He is due to appear at the higher court on April 24 this year.
