A man accused of breaking a bar customer’s nose and in a separate incident sexually assaulting a woman has made his first appearance at court.

Jake Harthill, 21, of Central Drive, Blackpool, is accused of maliciously wounding a man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm at the resort’s Oggie’s Bar, on Queen Street, Blackpool town centre, on April 25.

He is also alleged to have sexually touched a woman walking home in Blackpool with her son on May 8.

Jenny Prendergast, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court

Stephen Duffy, defending, said his client would not indicate pleas to the charges at this stage.

Harthill was remanded by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on June 6.
