A man accused of murdering a father whose teenage daughter disappeared six years ago has made his first appearance at court.

Sean Conlon, 43, of no fixed address, is charged with the murder of 49-year-old Frank Chivers, the father of missing Paige, on August 11.

Co-accused, Carly Turner, 28, of Camden Road, Layton, Blackpool, is accused of perverting the course of justice by knowingly providing a false statement to the police about Conlon’s whereabouts on August 16.

Conlon and Turner were remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on August 21 by Blackpool magistrates.

Mr Chivers was found collapsed with a head injury at his home in Walter Robinson Court, Layton, Blackpool, and died later in hospital.

His 15-year-old daughter, Paige, vanished from the family’s then home in Bispham in 2007. Her mother, Sheila, had died just months before her disappearance.
