Man accused of causing injury to baby

A MAN has been charged following an investigation into a serious injury caused to a baby in Blackpool.

Tomasz Raszkiewicz, 32, of Central Drive, Blackpool, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police were contacted by the ambulance service at about 1am on Sunday to a report that a one-month-old baby boy had been injured at an address on Charles Street in Blackpool.

The baby was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and then transferred to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool. He remains very poorly.

Two other men arrested as part of the investigation were released with no further action.

A 34-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of wounding has been released on bail.

Raszkiewicz has been remanded in custody to appear before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday November 25.
