A KNOTT End man has admitted the attempted murder of his wife.

Andrew Castle, of Holmefield Road, pleaded guilty to the charge against his wife, Margaret Castle, at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

The courts previously heard how police received a phone call from a woman who said she had been hit around the head with a cosh.

Officers went to the couple’s home and discovered Mrs Castle had minor head injuries. She was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Police were called to the couple’s home at 7.15pm on Saturday, March 5.

Castle will now be sentenced on July 4 at Preston Crown Court.
