A man accused of the multiple rape of a young girl has made his first appearance at court.
James Lismore, 59, of Clifford Road, North Shore, faces five offences of raping a girl while she was between the ages of seven and 11.
He is also accused of two charges of attempting to rape the same girl and one charge of sexually assaulting her. The offences are alleged to have taken place at Blackpool between October 2005 and September 2010.
Defence lawyer, Jessica Partington, said Lismore had indicated he would plead not guilty to the offences. Lismore was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on December 23.
He must not enter Northern Ireland or have unsupervised contact with any child under 16 unless directed by social services as conditions of his bail.
