A father-of-two was lured into a sordid internet world when he spent hours away from home with work, a court was told.

Luciano Ruocco, 37, of Warbreck Hill Road, North Shore, is now having specialist psycho sexual counselling after he admitted intentionally attempting to cause a girl of 12 to look at images of himself engaged in sexual activity.

Martin Taylor, defending, said: “This is a man – a father of two young children – who has fallen a long way.

“He has been torn apart by his guilty shame.”

Blackpool magistrates heard Ruocco was in a hotel room when he went on UK Chatterbox and MSN internet chat rooms under a false name.

He thought he was talking to a 12-year-old girl, but was in fact speaking to a police officer.

Mr Taylor added: “This happened when he was depressed and felt he was being bullied at work. He was spending long periods of time in hotels.

“Unusually his family have rallied round him and have paid for treatment for him from a specialist.”

He was placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for five years, court supervision for 18 months and ordered to pay £85 costs by magistrates.
