A convicted paedophile has been banned from using the internet by a court.

Philip Sellars was caught red-handed by police with technology he used to chat on dating and social network sites.

Sellars, 35, of Colwyn Avenue, Marton, pleaded guilty to two offences of breaching a Sex Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

He was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on October 24 for sentence by Blackpool magistrates.

Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said Sellars was convicted of making and possessing indecent pictures of children in December 2010 and was handed a five-year SOPO.

Police found an i-Pad Touch at his home on September 14, which he admitted using for dating and social network sites.

He told police: “Lock me up - my life is awful.”
