POLICE are appealing for the public’s help to track down a man who made lewd remarks towards two schoolgirls.
The 13-year-old girls were stood in a garden on Ashfield Road, Bispham, when they were approached by a man who made inappropriate sexual suggestions toward them.
One of the girls hit the man with an umbrella while her friend kicked him to his shin.
The girls then ran off but the man followed them on foot.
He removed his grey jogging bottoms and swung them around his head while making ‘whooping noises’, leaving his black underpants on show.
He then ran off up Faraday Way and the incident was reported to police.
Sgt Andrew Parr, of Blackpool Police, said: “This was an alarming and distressing incident for the young girls involved which happened in broad daylight.
“We believe this man was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident and would appeal to anybody who thinks they recognise this man or with any information which could help our investigation to contact police.”
The incident happened at around 8.15am on Thursday, May 31, but has only just come to light.
The man was described as being white, aged between 33 and 35 years old, of medium build with a “chubby” belly and around 5ft 8in tall.
He had dark stubble with a small scar on the left hand side of his nose, possibly brown eyes and spoke with a Merseyside accent.
He was wearing a blue hooded top with the hood up, possibly with the Nike logo on it, grey baggy jogging bottoms and dirty black Reebok trainers with distinctive multi-coloured laces.
Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
