The wannabe motorist, who only had a provisional driving licence, which forbids him from honing his skills on the motorway, was pulled over in a Renault Clio on the M55, Lancashire's road policing unit said this morning.

To make matters worse, officers are accusing him of belting along at 104mph in "adverse weather conditions".

Although his girlfriend, who does have a full licence, was in the car with him, the pair didn't have any L plates on, the force added.

Both were reported.
