A man accused of kidnapping a woman by car at Blackpool has made his first appearance at court.

Wayne Richardson, 29, of Westcliffe Drive, Layton, is charged with kidnapping the woman on December 8 last year.

He is also alleged to have driven a Citroen Picasso dangerously along Westcliffe Drive on the same date.

Richardson is further alleged to have harassed a woman by sending her a large amount of unwanted texts.

Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said the case should be heard at the crown court.

Defence lawyer, David Charnley, said his client had indicated he would plead not guilty to all three offences.

Richardson was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on February 3 by Blackpool magistrates.
