The Apple iPad1 device was taken from the Grand Hotel on Kings Road from its stand at the hotel reception desk on August 27 around 1pm.

Police said around the time of the theft a teenage boy was seen to be sat alone in the reception area. When the receptionist returned from her break she noticed both the iPad and the boy were missing.

Officers are now keen to trace this boy and to speak to anybody that can assist with their investigation.

PC Dave Payne, from Blackpool police, who is leading the investigation said: “I would appeal to anyone with any information about this theft to come forward and contact police.

“The iPad has a distinctive engraving on the back of the device bearing the name “Sam Webb” who is a relative of the hotel owners. The engraving marks the fact he donated it to the hotel for guest use.”

The teenager is described as being around 14-years-old with short dark hair.
