A 20-year-old Blackpool man has made his first appearance at court charged with making a threat to kill a teenage girl over the internet.

Joseph Holgate admitted harassing his victim causing her to fear that violence would be used against her including the death threat.

Blackpool Magistrates adjourned the case against Holgate, 20, of Faringdon Avenue, South Shore, Blackpool so that pre-sentence reports can be carried out on him.

The justices warned Holgate that all options would be considered including prison.

He will next appear at court on Tuesday October 22.

He was granted bail on condition he lives at his given address and must not contact witnesses.
